About

I am a journalist, activist, online publisher and geek, in no particular order.

The things I do:

I was the founder, publisher and editor of Tectonic. Tectonic was closed down in 2009, nine years after I started it.

I am a regular freelance contributor for MyBroadband, SA’s biggest tech site as well as for a number of other print and online publications.

What else … there is is Treevolution. I’m primarily the technical skills behind that although I do get to contribute the occasional tech-related green piece.

Over the years I have worked for a number of mainstream and niche publications including Business Report, ITWeb, Finance Week, The Star, Sunday Independent, This Day, ITechnology and Engineering News as well as freelanced for others including Business Day and the Mail&Guardian. I’ve worked extensively as both a journalist (mainly technology and business) as well as in production and editing.

Although most of my work has been in media as a journalist I am, at heart, a geek that loves the way technology and media are working together to create new opportunities and channels.
